Please provide details of your current remuneration package (and band if you are an internal candidate from within the Civil Service) and two professional referees together with a brief statement of the capacity and over what period of time they have known you. The Recruitment Process

Pre-appointment enquiries

We will carry out enquiries into the successful candidate’s nationality and other matters before a formal offer of appointment is made.  Subject to satisfactory completion of the pre-appointment enquiries, you will be invited to take up the post as soon as possible.

Security clearance:

The successful candidate will be required to hold or gain SC level security clearance initially, prior to taking up post. Further information on what this involves can be obtained by contacting

The selection process

All applications will be sifted, the final shortlist will go through a series of assessments and be interviewed.

Those shortlisted will be asked to undergo an Individual Leadership Assessment with an occupational psychologist, designed to identify key behavioural strengths as well as any associated areas for development.

Alongside this, shortlisted candidates will take part in a Staff Engagement Exercise with up to 5 GDS employees.

As part of the assessment process, those shortlisted will also be provided with the opportunity for a Fireside Chat with Kevin Cunnington.

The final selection panel will be chaired by Sarah Laessig, Civil Service Commissioner, and will also include:
