  • Extensive experience and established track record of leading; HR/OD teams and also people, skills, culture and people-based change, at Director and/or Board level within complex organisations of scale.
  • Personal drive and experience to be working with all staff and stakeholders to be an employer of choice.
  • To have the personal confidence, industry respect and industry contacts to “hit the ground” running and maintain that momentum for our organisation.
  • A clear understanding of the strategic and delivery issues re culture change and policy alignment re terms and conditions, recruitment and retention, and ways of working.
  • A strong track record of successfully interfacing with staff and stakeholders; consistently delivering above expectations.
  • Proven experience in the design and execution of innovative operational structures/models for new ways of working.
  • Experience of working successfully with staff representatives and unions.
  • Strong leadership capability able to deliver results consistently through others.
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, together with adaptability and flexibility.
  • Demonstrable understanding of people development services & culture.
  • Experience of developing skills and training standards with external bodies (e.g. Schools and other employers) who can support delivery of an organisation’s objectives   


  • Public sector and Private sector experience.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the political arena in relation to public sector service delivery.
